Child Safety Net (CSN)
Child Safety Net builds institutional measures to protect the rights of the children at village level through various activities like Children Parliaments, Adult Activists Groups, Child Protection Committees with the help of Local Schools, Primary health care centers, Anganwadis, Local village/ward Sachivalayam staff, Village elders and other NGOs.
The aim of this initiative is to facilitate:
- 1. Obtaining essential life documents for both children and adults.
- 2. Streamlining the school enrollment process.
- 3. Identifying children with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Growth and Developmental issues (GUD), and psychological problems, including community adults.
- 4. Establishing and managing evening tuition centers.
- 5. Identifying orphans and referring them to Child Welfare Committees (CWC).
- 6. Identifying vulnerable children with special circumstances and referring them to local hostels and Child Care Institutions (CCIs).
- 7. Organizing medical camps.
- 8. Conducting evening adult education sessions.
- 9. Improving sanitation facilities.
- 10. Ensuring access to safe drinking water.
These efforts are aimed at benefiting children and their marginalized families, particularly those from Tribal Communities.
The implementation of the CSN is going on in full swing. The CSN activities are now being undertaken in altogether 150 village/slum communities (covering in and around the following areas of Vijayawada urban – NTR, Krishna, Eluru, West Godavari, East Godavari, Telangana).
