On 23/12/2016 Navajeevan Bala Bhavan family celebrated “Semi Christmas Celebration” at Chiguru with 600 children, Directors, staff, volunteers, Brothers and sisters. Celebration started at 10:00 am with welcoming words of Fr. Balashowry, Executive Director to the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Fr. Welcomed and thanked the chief Guest Mr. Phillip C Tocher, AP MLA along with his wife to be with Navajeevan for the celebration and also Fr. Gabriel who joined us saying that he wants to be with us. Fr. also greeted and welcomed Ms. Heidi who had come to Navajeevan for the sixth time and representing all the volunteers from Netherlands who are supporting the project.
Fr. Balashowry welcomed all the Children, Staff, Sisters, Brothers, Volunteers, FRUITS and Anand calling it’s a family day, family celebration. Father said that we celebrate Christmas as thanks giving for the blessings showered by God on us in 2016. Christ’s birth means God is giving new and peaceful life. God is guiding all the four directors of Navajeevan to spread love to children in Navajeevan. We all are children of God and blessed everyone saying that after few days we all will enter in 2017 and may God give all of us peace and development. At the end Fr. once again greeted everyone a Merry Christmas.
Ms. Vani called up on the guests one by one to the dais starting with Fr. Balashowry, who received all the guests by greeting them individually. The guests include Mr. Phillip C Tocher, AP MLA and his wife, Fr. Gabriel, Ms. Heidi, Dr. M. C. Das and his wife Mrs. Lakshmi, Fr. P. Jose, Director, Chiguru, Fr. Pradeep, Director Education Dept., Mr. Raj Kumar, Administrator, Mr. L. Anand, P.O, Indian Bank, Student representative Ch. Nagaraju and the Santa clause (Mr. Ratnam).
Fr. Gabriel started his message with a word of God in Luke 2:13, 14. He said the theme of today “The birth of Christ is a birth of peaceful society”. We all must live in a peaceful society and get blessings of God for that. We all will be happy and peaceful with the mercy and blessings of God. All the children are happy here because of the prayers and blessings of Don Bosco. At the end he wished everyone a happy Christmas.
Mr. L. Anand shared his success and happiness with the guests and children saying that he started his education at a very young age in Chiguru and he never expected that he would share the stage with great people and be an inspiration to few of the children. He thanked Fr. Koshy, Fr. Michel and Anu Aunty for supporting and motivating him to study even though he ran away three times and now Fr. Balashowry and Fr. Pradeep for guiding, supporting and encouraging him to take coaching and be successful. He thanked all the staff members for being a part of his journey of ups and downs. He stated that he got a lot of love and support from Navajeevan and now he wants to give back and pray that all the children reach great heights.
Dr. M. C. Das said that JESUS means Love, Sacrifice, Donate, Trust, Peace, Nonviolence and Affection and all us celebrate Christmas. It has nothing to do with religion. Navajeevan is protecting the children in difficulties. The aim of the directors and the staff of Navajeevan is to protect children. Here not only food and facilities are given but also love and care, which very important aspect of life. He blessed the children to be happy and make others happy and reach great heights
Addressing the gathering Mr. Phillip C Tocher said that he is very happy to be a part of Navajeevan celebrations. He greeted everyone a Happy Christmas on behalf of the Chief Minister and promised to bring the Chief Minister to Chiguru since he is the neighbor and the Chief Minister should know that there is someone taking care of children in difficulty. He also promised that Govt. will help and support in every possible way and no need to worry. He is happy to see Anand become successful with the care and support of Navajeevan and blessed every child to study well and become successful.
Mr. Tocher and his wife were presented a gift as a token of thanks and love followed by thanking Fr. Gabriel and Dr. M. C. Das and his wife. At the end there was a cake cutting by all the guests on the stage followed by cultural programmes by the children and staff of all centers of Navajeevan.
After songs and dances Mrs. Prasanna gave a vote of thanks to all the guests, Directors, Staff, children, Volunteers, Fruits, Brothers, Sisters and the sponsors. She specially thanked Fr. Pradeep for planning and guiding all to make this event such a success. This was followed by a delicious lunch at Chiguru sponsored by Anand. After lunch staff and children enjoyed while participating in the games organized by Fr. Pradeep and in the end gifts were distributed to staff and children by the Directors.
