THE BLESSING AND HANDING OVER OF DEEPA NIVAS

A significant programme of ‘blessing and handing over’ paved a remarkable record in the annals of Navajeevan Bala Bhavan, Vijayawada, which took place on 29th July 2017 at Deepa Nivas. ‘DEEPA NIVAS’, a home for the care and protection of children in distress was undertaken by Navajeevan Bala Bhavan, Vijayawada from the Diocese of Vijayawada for further quality. The mission of Deepa Nivas was one of the many important activities of the Diocese of Vijayawada. It had been closely monitored by the Social Service Centre until the day of handing over to the Salesians of Don Bosco. With an intention to run the home more systematically and to provide better care to the inmates, the Bishop of Diocese of Vijayawada invited the Salesians of Don Bosco to take over the home as they have much experience in providing care and protection to the children and youth tentatively for three years (2017-2020).

The impressive programme started with a hymn on Holy Spirit screened and followed by a power point presentation on the history, vision and mission of Deepa Nivas and Navajeevan Bala Bhavan.
